Where some couples have been seen postponing their weddings during Coronavirus lockdown, there are some couples who are honouring social distancing in total swag and how. Another couple who made it to the headlines is Anay and Neha who decided to get engaged on their scheduled date itself. While there are couples who are tying the knot on Zoom app via video conferencing, this couple opted for Facebook to make their engagement viral.
Check out the story of this Mumbai couple who got engaged on Facebook live amidst Coronavirus lockdown.
Anay Rajadhyaksha and Neha Shikra were getting engaged on 25th March when Prime Minister Modi announced national lockdown for 21 days. However, the couple didn’t lose hope and decided to go with their original plan only with a little twist. As an alternative, the couple decided to meet at a midway grocery store to exchange rings since the lockdown allowed them to go grocery shopping. However, their plan failed as the groom-to-be lives in Andheri and the bride-to-be lives in Mulund and reaching anywhere in Powai wasn’t as easy as it may sound.
So, as a result, the couple decided to take the route of social media to make their engagement amidst Coronavirus lockdown official. However, it wasn’t easy for the couple to make their parents agree to their decision. Since the couple belongs to traditional marathi families, their parents refused their idea of online engagement. However, no one can stop two lovers from uniting. So, after a lot of discussions and negotiations, their parents agreed to be a part of their digital engagement with their friends and families watching them live on facebook. Crazy much?
