Watching, Kareena Kapoor Khan walking the ramp for Falguni Shane Peacock at Indian Couture Week 2018, which took place in Taj Palace, New Delhi in July which was an experience in itself. But, checking out their recent bridal collection at Vogue Wedding Show 2018 in Taj Palace, New Delhi, was altogether a dream for every bride. The gold, silvers, pastels and shimmers were totally drool worthy. Each and every outfit there was made with perfection.
Team ShaadiWish was fortunate enough to have a conversation with the creative director of Falguni Shane Peacock, Mr Shane Peacock. Discussing about the grand Vogue Wedding Show 2018 and their recent bridal collection, Shane Peacock speaks about what inspired them and how are they looking forward to the bridal fashion of 2018-19, keeping the modern bride in mind.
Q. What is Vogue Wedding Show all about when it comes to Falguni Shane Peacock?
For Falguni Shane Peacock, bridal has always been a key integral part of the brand. We actually started our brand with couture we lanchedoff with pret. So, as far as couture and bridal are concerned we take great interest in making sure a person looks diff on her wedding day. And, I think what greater platform than Vogue Wedding Show, to showcase our collection and understand the preference of the bride and their needs.
Q. What was the inspiration behind the recent collection that you launched?
Every year we come out with one theme, so this time we have come up with Amour De Junagarh. And, Indian Couture Week 2018 was an extension of Amour De Junagarh. It is basically about a Persian queen who comes to India goes to Rajasthan stays at Junagarh palace. And, behind the palace, there’s mela happening, where there are lots of animals and she gets a cultural explosion and she falls in love with it. So, this whole incident is an inspiration for our recent collection where you will find all the elements in our collection like small tigers, elephants, and umbrellas.
Q. How do you look your Modern Bride Outfit?
I think when we are designing for a bride and we say this is going to be a perfect bridal garment for the bride. We make sure the bride stands out in that garment, the garment should look good even if it is very simple even if the color is subtle or it is a pastel color. There are some key elements we have been using from a long time and has become a signature for us. So, when you see a bride, you automatically say, “Oh she is a Falguni Shane Peacock bride”.
Q. What colors do you look for in a bride’s outfit?
So, whenever we talk about Indian bride, we always refer them in dark, deep colors. And, I think as fashion is evolved cultures and traditions has changed a little bit. I think, we bring on a plate that the bride should be modern, she should be less fuss, should look elegant she should fit in if she was a bride from Hong Kong or a bride from the US rather than looking like an Indian stamped on her. So, we basically bring the international appeal to out brides with our collection.
Q. What about the Golds, silver and shimmers you have come up with in your recent collection?
When you talk about couture it has to be silver and gold. Colors just adds in, but no gown is complete without silver and gold.
