1. Mehendi Function
Uraysha kick-started her wedding festivities with the mehendi function that was a high tea. She wanted her guests to relax and laze away the day. Uraysha told us that she got most of the decor stuff from Delhi after searching for them in the most crowded places but she found exactly what she wanted. Her sister and family members took care of the decor and managed it all by themselves.
And also, all of the feasts for the mehendi function was prepared by Uraysha’s sister and it included scones, bruschetta and quiches. Oh and wait they also had some fresh lassi that was just a cherry on top.
Uraysha told us that she is really not a fan of brands or expensive clothes and for mehendi ceremony, she paired a beautiful Anita Dongre aqua print lehenga with a sheer pink cape blouse that she got from the streets of Chandni Chowk.

For the mehendi favors, she had bought pom and ghungroo kangans from Bhuleshwar Market, Mumbai which she hung at the favor wall and had requested every guest to pick one as they leave.

2. Sangeet Function Of A DIY Wedding In South Africa
Uraysha had a Mumbai Mela theme for her sangeet and we bet you are going to fall in love with the preparations made for this event. She herself bought loud colors cushions, table centerpieces and all other decor elements from Mumbai and we salute her efforts. Uraysha with the help of her sister decorated the stage with gorgeous umbrellas.
As the theme was related to Mumbai, she wanted her outfit to be glamorous too. She wore a pink Banarsi lehenga with a golden blouse that she got from Delhi and the jewelry was sourced from Lajpat Nagar.
The best part of the sangeet was that they had a dosa bar, chaat station, fresh hot jalebi station and paan bar. They had authentic leaf bowls (in which chaat is served in Mumbai) brought in from overseas. ⠀

3. Haldi Ceremony
This DIY wedding in South Africa is already giving us the chills. The theme kept for the haldi was Marigold Mahal and everybody was seen wearing shades of red, orange and yellow. She also had marigold photo booths in which she hung pictures of her with every family member and they loved it.
4. The Wedding
The theme for the wedding was ‘Jaipur Royalty’ and Uraysha designed the decor, her sister and family got to work making panel upon panel of wooden frames with blue pongee material canvas. She sketched out the Jaipur Blue Pottery design as well as some Rajasthani windows and we are loving it.

She was the quintessential bride in a beautiful red lehenga, the massive necklace and OTT kaleere.
5. Reception Ceremony
For the reception., she wanted a ‘white wedding’ so she opted for a light grey lehenga with a scalloped dupatta. The stage was decorated with fresh eucalyptus and it looked mesmerizing as ever. Their wedding favors were very personal and useful. They gave out pouches of homemade chai masala, which everyone loved!
