Swara Bhaskar Marries Political Activist Fahad Ahmad

It’s raining weddings in Bollywood! Actress Swara Bhasker took to Twitter and announced her wedding with political activist Fahad Ahmad. The two had registered their marriage in court on January 6, 2023 under the Special Marriage Act and announced the news on February 16, 2023. She announced the wedding and the story of how they met via a video and we also picked up a few pictures of them from their post wedding lunch.

Taking her fans by surprise, Swara Bhaskar dropped a video on her twitter account about her wedding with political activist Fahad Ahmad. With putting out all the details about their love story, Swara gave a glimpse of her court marriage at the registrar office with her parents in attendance. She captioned the video –

“Sometimes you search far & wide for something that was right next to you all along. We were looking for love, but we found friendship first. And then we found each other! Welcome to my heart @FahadZirarAhmad, it’s chaotic but it’s yours!”

In response, Fahad Ahmed tweeted –

“I never knew chaos can be so beautiful. Thank you for holding my hand love.”

For those unaware, Fahad Ahmad is the president of the Maharashtra unit of Samajwadi Party Yuvjan Sabha. “Obviously, it began at a protest,” Swara captioned their first meeting. Besides being an acclaimed actor, Swara has taken part in various public protests, notably over CAA-NRC and against the attacks on students on the JNU campus. Fahad Ahmad, whom she introduced as a political activist is heard saying in a video, that for him “asking questions to my government is the most patriotic act”.

Post their court wedding, the couple posed as Swara flaunted her engagement ring. For the D-day, Swara opted for a red saree with a beige embroidered blouse. She elevated her look with minimal jewellery and kept her hair open. Complimenting her, Fahad wore beige kurta-pajama with a red vest on top.

The couple hosted a wedding lunch where they had their closest friends and family join them for a celebratory lunch. Actress Sonam Kapoor was spotted at Swara’s wedding lunch.
