Rucha and Kailash’s intimate Marathi wedding was a beautiful celebration of love with their close friends and family. The beginning of their love story dates back to their high school days. Kailash was Rucha’s senior in school but nothing happened apart from their friends’ failed attempt to set them up. It was only after Kailash finished his schooling that the two of them started hitting it off. Both Rucha and Kailash were in the same sports club so they would see each other daily. The two started getting closer to each other and finally made their relationship official in the summer of 2011.

Rucha shares that they were both extremely fond of each other and would go on numerous dates, trips, and hiking adventures together. They never felt the need to discuss their future, it was smooth sailing for them both. Soon Kailash got selected for the Indian Air Force and started his training. During that time, Rucha realized she missed him badly and couldn’t stand not seeing or talking to him for such long durations. It was challenging for them to carry on a long-distance relationship while also building their careers. But they always knew they were meant to be together.

And in 2020, when the pandemic hit us all, Kailash was finally home due to the lockdown. They got to spend some quality time together after a long time. As soon as the lockdown ended, Kailash got posted in New Delhi. So without wasting any time Kailash proposed to Rucha on her 24th birthday and the deal was sealed.

1. Mehendi Function

Rucha’s mehendi ceremony was a fun and adorable event. She looked lovely in her orange lehenga with an embroidered blouse and a baby breath tiara. Kailash was dressed in a blue kurta set with a white Nehru jacket. Both their families were there to celebrate the love the two share.

2. Sangeet/Cocktail Night

For the sangeet-cum-cocktail night, Rucha chose a bottle-green lehenga with silver details. She wore matching jewelry and we loved her bold eye-makeup that was a perfect match for a cocktail night. Meanwhile, Kailash was looking his absolute best in a pastel achkan.

3. Lovely Outdoor Wedding Decor

The wedding took place outdoors in an open yard and the decor was absolutely beautiful. The outdoor mandap and seating setup were vibrant and minimalist. The floral mandap decor looked truly lovely with bright colors. They even had a message board for the guests to leave their testimonials for the couple on small cards. 4. Pre-Wedding Rituals

The Marathi wedding consists of the Antarpat ritual where a shawl is placed between the bride and groom until the priest recites the mantras. Once the mantras are complete the shawl is removed. Rucha looked gorgeous as ever in her Marathi bridal avatar. She wore a green Paithani saree with a red blouse along with a mundavalya (a string of pearls) across her forehead and gold jewelry.

5. Intimate Marathi Wedding

After the Antarpat ritual is completed, the bride and groom exchange their garlands. This ceremony is usually a fun celebration as the bride and groom’s family make it harder for the other to put the garland over their partner. Both Rucha and Kailash wore matching yellow-colored outfits for the wedding ceremony. Rucha looked beautiful in a yellow saree with a blue silk shawl. And Kailash was dressed in yellow achkan and a beige gold dhoti.

6. Post Wedding Dinner

After the wedding ceremony, both Rucha and Kailash’s families had dinner for the newly married couple. For the post-wedding dinner look, Rucha donned a wine-colored silk brocade saree.
