Making Of Mani Jassal’s Bridal Lehenga
The designer shares “the design process for my wedding looks started in December 2019. I was pretty confused about what I was going to wear but I knew for sure I wanted to wear red and that it had to be a Hierarchy Skirt. The ‘Rosa Hierarchy’ skirt is one of my favourite pieces that I have designed and so I wanted to recreate a traditional one for myself. I was sitting at the Soho House in New York when the splurge of ideas started coming to me. It would be the first time I would be doing custom embroidery work.
In January 2020, I went to India where I met with ‘karigars’ and got a number of embroidery samples made. I tried everything from zari and kardana to mukesh and sequins. However, I couldn’t find anything to match my vibes to perfection. As I was going through my parents wedding photos ,I finalized that I wanted a more 80s and 90s Punjabi fashion look in my lehenga . So I went with gota pati work mixed with French knots and mirrors which was exclusively done by the artisans of India.”
Intimate Backyard Wedding of Designer Mani Jassal
With the pandemic crisis not getting over anytime soon, the couple decided to go ahead with their original wedding dates. Their traditional Anand Karaj ceremony took place at the groom’s house and it was every bit beautiful. While Mani Jassal looked absolutely ethereal in a self-designed red gota patti lehenga, Harkomal color coordinated with her by opting for a red shawl, turban and rubies with his ivory sherwani.

Live Streaming Of Wedding
Not able to invite all of their family members, the couple had made all the arrangements for live streaming of their wedding taking care of all the safety and hygiene guidelines issued by the Government.
