For a long time, the Indian LGBT community (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transgenders, Queers) has been living on the sidelines. Earlier in 2018 after the Honorable Supreme Court decriminalized Section 377, LGBT community became free to be visible and vocal. However, still, there are hundreds of thousands who face discrimination and cannot express themselves due to societal pressure and lack of support. They hardly can express themselves without being stereotyped, because they have never been given that chance. We at ShaadiWish wanted to celebrate true love and give a voice and expression to the members of this community, without creating a stereotype. And, so we exclusively collaborated with The Delta App– India’s first LGBT community and networking space. Through this app, we reached out to hundreds of people and picked three winners- Gagan, Akriti and Suryatapa, for their unique stories and expression of life; for an exclusive LGBT photoshoot.
We can’t thank our partners enough who came forward to support our initiative and made this magic happen. Baar Baar Delhi is an amazing venue which offered us with perfect backdrops and ambiance for the photoshoot. The very talented Vidya Tikari and the team gave a stunning makeover to the participants. Further, they were styled in bespoke outfits by Pankaj and Nidhi and Siddartha Tytler.
So, without much adieu we are presenting the much-awaited photoshoot pictures of LGBT community exclusively shot by the ShaadiWish team.
