Mehendi ceremonies are the quintessential part of any Hindu wedding and perhaps the only function after cocktail that brings in its own set of quirks and charms to the wedding festivities! From mehendi favours to outfits, we see most talks on Mehendi being about all of this but the caterers. Like they mentioned in the movie Band Baaja Baraat, “what makes people enjoy the most in wedding festivities is nothing but the quality and taste of food”. So amidst all this fun, our team took a strong note of the special touch of Fork & Spoon caterers at Vasundra and Shrey’s wedding apart from the most beautiful colour coordinated event we have ever witnessed.
So, check out all the details from their wedding, especially how the quirky and colourful setup of Fork & Spoon blends so well with their Mehendi ceremony theme! Win for the guests and win-win for the bride & groom families. And a point to be understood for all brides planning their Mehendi – yes the catering setup is crucial too.
The Concept Of Arranged Marriage
Vasundra and Shrey were strongly against the concept of “Arranged Marriage”, but God had its own plans for them. Both met through their parents, just like any other arranged marriage’s first step is and then the guy and girl meet with lack of enthusiasm. But, but, but this is not how it happened with these two, they started talking to each other quite early and then messages and meetings happened, and they fell in love. The wedding dates were finalised and soon, the day arrived.
The Theme Mehendi Ceremony
First and foremost ceremony as the pre wedding function, Mehendi was more of a theme based affair. The couple decided to go for a yellow and mint kind of a day ceremony. And, the best part about the occasion was each and everyone including friends supported the theme. Even the catering service, Fork ‘n’ Spoon worked hard to make it like it looks in the pictures. Yes! Perfect, flawless.
The Color Coordinated Couple In Love
Introducing the couple in love, Vasundra and Shrey. Our bride, Vasundra opted for a daydream ensemble by Monika Nidhi and was looking ravishing. The net mint colored lehenga with yellow blouse embellished with pearls will definitely be many brides’ choice for their mehendi or haldi ceremony. She completed her look with an elegant tiara and floral hathphool. She was looking nothing less than a princess. The groom whereas looked dapper in a sea green bandhgala and yellow square pocket from Line by Shamim Khan. The couple were coordinating each other just perfectly.
The Maids Of Honor
Vasundra’s friends and sisters were giving us major Bridesmaid Goals. Each and everyone was looking stunning and supported the theme marvelously. Not only the dresses for mehendi were similar, but they all were spotted wearing almost similar kind of maatha pattis. The double layered and elegant hair accessory was making them twin at the mehendi ceremony. And, this was completed by the perfect bridesmaid shoot by Vows and Tales.
The Quirky Food Stations
Fork ‘n’ Spoon, the caterers at the mehendi ceremony gave an entirely different and out of the box look to the food stations. Their food stations were filled with miniature cages, trucks, bicycles, ships, elephants and what not. It complimented the theme superbly.
This is what the couple in love, Vasundra and Shrey has to say about their impeccable catering service:
“ We guys were very particular about our first pre-wedding ceremony, as it was a theme mehendi ceremony, we wanted to keep everything matching to the theme. So, we thought of hiring Fork ‘n’ Spoon, as they are the best in town and were able to implement things just the way we wanted. We really loved the food stations they set up and even our guests loved it. The food and catering were just perfect. We would thank them for making it a memorable event”
The Decor
The decor of the ceremony was full of yellow and blue flowers. Tables and the seating arrangements were again covered with yellow sheets and curtains. But, what attracted us the most was the miniature cages that were used for the decoration. The fresh lilies and marigold made the perfect mehendi decor.
Certainly, the mehendi celebration of Vasundra and Shrey is going to inspire the to-be-weds who are planning to throw a theme based pre-wedding ceremony. And if you get inspired by these lovelies, do share the pictures of the same with us so that we can inspire our readers with your celebrations as well.
