Sabyasachi Mukherjee has been recognized as a miracle designer since his maiden fashion show at the Lakme Fashion Week in 2002. The label that was born immediately after his graduation from NIFT, Kolkata in 1999, has a semblance that is deeply rooted in his childhood memories. From the bustling architecture and values of the erstwhile British capital city to the neoteric gentlewomen whom he would cross paths with at gatherings, his inspirations come from antique elements, textures and engravings that conglomerate India.
What started off as a tiny design unit above his parent’s house, very quickly found it’s way into the international market while expeditiously collecting awards and rewards. Creating Bollywood costumes, experimenting with accessories and even collaborations with international brands, jewellers, Home decor, TV shows and Hotels, Sabyasachi has charmingly created a partnership that evokes uniqueness in whichever sphere he has delved into.
