In continuation of our endeavours to bring to you some of the hottest finds in the most iconic markets, our Shaadiwish fairy had recently visited Lajpat Nagar, and found a colossal sea of bridal baubles at reasonable rates to make your shaadi shopping an easier task!
This week, we decided to make a quick trip to Greater Kailash-1. We’ve always heard about Prince Pan and Aunty’s momos, but why is this market so famous amongst the ladies? Has to be some major incentive to get these dames out in the dhoop, haina?

As soon as you start walking around this rectangular market, you just cannot miss the tonnes of jewellery showrooms present. The window displays had glittering jewels that made us stop a few times so we could admire those beautiful creations delaying our tight one hour schedule a bit. But girls will be girls!
Our main stop was the tiny basement that was highlighted with a series of sari blouses inviting us to go explore. Every inch of the wall had been covered in these tiny burst of shiny garments.

The corner most store in this infamous basement- Roshan Tailors, caught our attention. The owner there, Mr. Ikhtiyar Ali was very excited to have us at the store, sharing his 40 year old legacy. He took pride in the fact that he could transform any design into reality and boasted of a very impressive and loyal clientele.

The blouses were neatly arranged in a colour-coordinated fashion, which made it easier for us to browse through. With a masterji sitting right there and a bunch of enthusiastic ladies helping us find appropriate blouses, we knew we were in safe hands.

The best part about this place is the fact that you can find a blouse that matches ANY saree! You’ll find corset style blouses to cholis that go along with your skirts and lehengas. It’s the perfect spot for you to mix and match and go back with a reasonable option. The multiple racks stocked different designs and styles which were traditional as well as trendy. So it isn’t that tought to find something that suits your style! You are literally spoilt for choices!

With the variety of embroidered fabrics and embellished textures, it’s like everything you are looking for. See a design on pinterest and want them to make the same one for you? You’ll have it ready in time for the next shaadi. If you like something already available there, they will alter it to your size and give it in a few hours too! So, last minute shopping cannot be easier than this.

The blouses start at Rs.1000 and go upto Rs.10,000. The decorated blouses with intricate details are on an average for about Rs 3000 to Rs 4000. Which seems worth it for a ready made outfit, right?
From personal experience, I bought a blouse there last year and have landed up wearing that in 6 ways with different sarees and a lehenga too.
