For winter brides, the chilling weather is surely the best as their makeup doesn’t melt and they can dance your heart out without worrying about the sweat. Though winter weddings have numerous admirers, there are a few downsides of it which come enveloped in the harsh and dry winds. The most common questions which winter brides have are related to skin.
So, dear winter brides, if you want your skin to glow naturally on the most important day of your life, try these home remedies:
1. Homemade Face Packs
Every girl can vouch for the importance of a good face pack. Face packs stimulate the skin cells and make it glow from within. They also make you feel calm and relaxed. So brides, whip up your own face packs with the ingredients lying in your kitchen.
One of the simplest and most effective packs is the milk cream and honey concoction. Just mix one teaspoon each of these two ingredients, apply it on your face and wash it off after sometime. Use this remedy twice or thrice a week to radiate a natural glow like never before.
2. Concoct Your Scrub
Winter winds can make your skin dry and chapped which is a big no-no for every bride. For that flawless skin, you must exfoliate regularly. While the store-bought scrubs can make your skin dry, homemade scrubs can help you to get rid of the dry skin and dust particles without ripping your skin of the natural oils.
Use ingredients like raw coconut oil, sugar, coffee grounds, oats and olive oil to make your own scrub at home. Exfoliate your skin once a week with this homemade scrub to give your skin a new life!
3. Eat Seasonal Fruits And Vegetables
You are what you eat and we cannot stress enough about the importance of eating seasonal fruits and vegetables. We often spend more time on taking care of the skin from the outside rather than the inside. For that natural glow and supple look, gorge on fresh fruits and vegetables that are deep in colour and have a high content of vitamins A and C in them. Fruits and vegetables like berries, spinach, oranges, lemon, broccoli, peas and carrots will work wonders for your skin.
4. Natural Moisturisers
As soon as the winters hit, we start lathering up our skins with every moisturiser we could lay our hands on. As a bride, you should be very careful about what you put on your skin. These moisturisers can make your skin greasy. You don’t want to block your pores, right?
Try natural ingredients like milk, milk cream, honey and light castor oil. These things will make your skin look hydrated rather than dipped in oil.
5. Grandma’s Magic Tonic
You have been running away from that not-so-delicious kaadha (decoct) that your mom and grandmom have been asking you to drink. Girls, trust us, that is a magical tonic which will prove to be the elixir of life for your skin.
If you want to cook your own kaadha, use ingredients like ginger, raw turmeric, neem, apple, cinnamon, lemon, saffron and tulsi. These easy-to-find things will make your skin beautiful from the inside out.
6. Natural Bleach For A Clearer Complexion
Bleaching the skin is one of the most common practices which is done to get rid of the tan or dullness. Bleach does make you look fairer instantly but in winters, it can do just the opposite. It can make dry patches on your skin which are hard to deal with.
So in winters, use natural ingredients with lightening agents in them like yoghurt and gram flour. Fullers’s earth is great too. Use it with honey otherwise, it will make your skin dry.
7. Good Old Steam
If you really want to pamper your skin in winters before the D-day, there’s nothing better than face steaming. Steam improves the blood circulation and removes dead skin. It also helps to get rid of the debris and blackheads.
If you want to take this steamy session to the next level, you can add some green tea to the hot water. If you do not have a steamer, you can simply add hot water in any utensil with a broad mouth.
We know that as a bride, you have to be extra careful about what you eat and put on your skin and this responsibility only increases as the temperature goes down. Just follow the points suggested above and you will make the most beautiful bride ever!
