For the first evening as Mrs. Ambani, the Shubh Ashirwad ceremony, Radhika wore a gorgeous hand-painted lehenga. This astounding lehenga was crafted by designer duo Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla in collaboration with famous Indian artist Jayasri Burman. She is a popular Indian painter and sculptor known for blending folk art and classic art forms to create some of the finest pieces of art. Stylist Rhea Kapoor suggested the concept, and Abu and Sandeep were thrilled to transform Jayasri’s artistic vision into a stunning bridal ensemble.

The hand-painted pink-hued lehenga was a wonderful fusion of fashion and fine art. The lehenga featured 12 hand-painted panels. The design included three important elements of mythical aesthetic, human figures symbolizing the happy couple and fauna to represent Anant’s love for animals.
Artist Jayasri Burman revealed that that it took an entire month of intensive work. She worked at her studio in Delhi for 15-16 hours daily without any preliminary sketches. Jayasri got complete creative freedom from the designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and stylist, Rhea Kapoor. She used the metaphor of working like a meditative sadhu to explain her dedication to the work. The central vision of Jayasri was to create something around the universe that brings optimism and hope to the piece of garment.
Recalling Radhika’s reaction to the hand-painted lehenga, Jayasri said:
“When Radhika and Rhea first saw the lehenga, their reaction was priceless. Radhika just exclaimed, ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe it,’ her hands were on her face in awe. It is not something I will forget soon.”

The ensemble, infused with Burman’s signature style of mythological storytelling, depicts Anant’s union with Radhika through profound symbolism. Human figures, representing the newlyweds, exude a “celestial” glow, honoring the divine essence within their union. The fauna adorning the garment pays homage to Anant’s affinity for the animal kingdom, especially elephants – a revered symbol of auspiciousness and beauty in Indian culture.
