All About The Collection – Homage By Anita Dongre
Homage by Anita Dongre is a celebration of a core philosophy that every garment is honoured by its wearer. The entire collection is inspired by India’s traditional art and architecture, it is then created for a muse who defies the pressure to either conform to or break free of societal expectations. Homage by Anita Dongre is an ode to India’s rich history that includes the art and architecture of Sindh, it is infused with colour and cultural vibrancy. The collection reinterprets motifs and details in a range of crafts and techniques including Bandhini and Benarasi.
The collection spotlights alchemical shapes and patterns that transcend time. In fact, to showcase the inclusivity and variety of cultures and stories, Anita Dongre bought about young women as her muse. The juxta-positioned curves of creativity, balance, grace and self-identity in this collection are brought to life by Serena Jethmalani, Tiana Taraporvala, Sara Tendulkar, Rhea Kuruvilla and Alaviaa Jaaferi – that also play muse to the designer.

Anita Dongre turned Sara Tendulkar – Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter into her gorgeous muse for this collection. Sara, who has a strong love for biosciences research, casts a bright light on etchings that convey neglected yet unique tales. With her organisational skills and intuitive mind, Sara has contributed in the development of skincare products with an international company.
