So, dear soon to be hitched couples, take note as we spill the beans on all the unique wedding trends that we spotted at Akash Ambani wedding.

1. A Novel Themed Pre-Wedding Function

Who doesn’t love Harry Potter? Imagine stepping into the world of your favourite characters from popular novels, films and shows? Ambanis without a doubt have set the newest wedding trends for 2019 by hosting a Harry Potter themed pre-wedding party and we are still spellbound with the same. So, doesn’t matter if you are a F.R.I.E.N.D.S or a Marvel Studios Fan, just go with it!

2. Newest Wedding Jewellery Trends

It would be an understatement to say that the jewellery worn by the Ambanis was exquisite. What we noticed was the use of the colour green. Whether it was matching the colour of the outfit or setting contrast to it, the men and the women of the house were seen wearing a lot of emerald and jade. The bride and the groom endorsed this colour as well. Not to forget layered jewellery worn by the women of the house in common!

3. A Customized Lehenga For Mother Of The Groom With Couple’s Name On It

Nita Ambani’s floral lehenga choli had ‘Shubhaarambh’ written in the center along with Akash and Shloka’s names on the side. This is one of the latest wedding trends of the year 2019 and we hope to see more mothers opting for such personalized outfits this wedding season!

4. A Solo And Group Dance With Bridesmaids

Dance performances at sangeet are nothing new for Shaadi Wala Ghar! But, what we saw at the Ambanis wedding was that the bride-to-be dancing her heart out at her mehendi. Shloka Ambani not only danced with her gang but gave a solo performance as well, depicting her emotions. So, brides-to-be, are you ready to rock your mehendi just like Shloka did?

5. A Second Change For The Wedding

We have seen that a lot of brides change their clothes for the pheras but we saw something different at the Ambani wedding. We noticed that the entire family changed their clothes after the baarat. It is a brilliant idea because then you don’t have to worry that your clothes will get spoiled or your makeup will melt by the time the baarat will reach the venue. You can dance your heart out at the dhol without any inhibitions.

6. Traditional Red And Gold

Last year we saw many celebrity brides experimenting with different shades for their wedding lehenga. While they all looked beautiful, Shloka Mehta decided to take the traditional route. Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla designed a red and gold lehenga for her with intricate detailing. Shloka looked absolutely divine in this gorgeous creation.

7. Pagri For All

The Ambanis are known to follow the traditions and they made sure that this extends to their guests as well. They organized a pagri ceremony for all of the guests, including their friends from foreign lands. Not only was this a meaningful ceremony but they all looked great in pagris.

8. Dulha Without Pagri

While everyone else was wearing a pagri, Akash Ambani decided to ditch it completely. The next generation Ambani heir chose to become a dulha without a turban. Indian weddings can be long and tedious, especially for the groom and the bride. Grooms often find it cumbersome to deal with a turban. Akash Ambani just clearer coast for those who are pondering about ditching the pagri too.

9. Groom Entry With The Entire Family

Everyone at the wedding awaits the entry of the bride but we were overwhelmed by the way Akash Ambani came to the venue. He entered the venue with his entire family. He came holding the hands of his parents and the three were followed by Isha and Anand Piramal and Anant and Radhika Merchant. It is only befitting to hold the hand of those who brought you into this world when you are about the start the most important chapter of your life.

10. A Grand Baarat

Kings used to come with great baarats to wed their queens. The tradition of grand baarats saw a decline but with Akash Ambani’s wedding, we are sure that the trend will pick up again. Instead of going directly to the wedding venue, all the guests came to shake a leg on the dhool and be a part of the baarat. Such things look really beautiful and show how close-knit friends and family are.

11. Colour Coordinated Family

For the baarat and the jai mala ceremony, the entire Ambani family was seen in colour coordinated outfits. They were all seen wearing different shades of pink which is perfect for the day events.

We have seen so many special performances by a lot of people over the years but what happened at Akash and Shloka’s wedding blew our minds. Instead of a single performance, all of their friends and family members decided to do a flash mob for the couple. Yes, you cannot expect the Khans, the Bachchans and everyone else from the film fraternity to dance at your wedding but a flashmob prepared by friends and family is just as special.

13. Extensive Use Of Flowers As Wedding Decor

Everyone knows for a fact that wedding decor is just incomplete without flowers. However, Ambani’s wedding decor was all about flowers. Grand chandeliers, rangoli, 3D statues and decorations, everything was exclusively designed using the flowers.
