Promising makeup techniques and unusual hairstyles, 2018 is going to give us some of the most beautiful brides. Here are some bridal makeup and beauty trends to watch out for this year.
1. Holographic look

Well-defined look will be in this wedding season. Leading bridal makeup artist, Aarti Makker sheds some light on this trend:
“Properly sculpted cheekbones, jawline and the temple would be the focus. Moreover, defining your best feature with the help of a highlighter will be preferred.”
2. Dewy Touch

Since 2018 is all about extremes, the other look which will be given importance is just the opposite of the holographic look. Dewy sun-kissed skin with light foundation will be given equal importance. Here, more focus will be on the natural beauty.
3. Soft Lips

This year, you will see a lot of brides with full pouts but in softer shades, especially at a day wedding. Zorain Khaleeli, Founder, Zorains Studio, speaks on this trend:
“Lighter shades of pink, brown and rust will take the centre stage. Glossy lips are not likely to make an entrance!”
4. Ombre Lips
For the night weddings, ombre lips will be given more importance. Combination of colours like peach and red, pink and wine and more will be mixed together to create an illusion of fuller lips.

If you are going for softer lips, the entire focus will shift on the eyes. This is done to balance the look. Rather than soft smokey eye, which was a hit in 2017, brides are going to flaunt deep smokey eyes for that sultry touch.

The concept of sunset eyes is a beautiful one. It replicates the bold colours of the sky at the time of the sunset on the eyelids of the bride. With a little bit of gold colour on the eyelid and deeper surrounding shades, sunset eyes are perfect for the brides.
7. Flower Power

Instead of artificial hair accessories, real flowers will sit proudly in the bride’s hair. Not the all-time favourite gajras but the full-blossomed roses, peonies, lilies and hydrangeas will be used as accessories.
8. Glitter and Metal

“Shimmer works well with both smokey and sunset eyes. It gives the eyes that oomph factor. You can match the colours of the glitz with the colour of your attire so that they can blend in well.”
9. Softer Brows

While 2017 was all about fuller and well-defined brows, 2018 will not follow the same line. Eyebrows will be defined but will not be made bold. Natural shape and colour of the brows will be given more preference.
10. Experimental Hairstyles

Brides are not going to just tie their hair in a simple bun and cover it up with a dupatta. You are going to see a lot of ‘S’ curves, pin curls and braids. Other than this, sleek mid parting is also gaining popularity.
