Somewhere in the heart of Bangalore, there was a 15 years old teenager who was fascinated by the world of makeup. This little girl was brave enough to follow her passion and a few years later, she was able to build an empire out of her dreams. Zorain Khaleeli is a well-known name in the glamorous makeup world. Zorain started her journey in Bangalore where she helped many brides to look their best on the most important day of their lives but her heart wanted more. She wanted to impart her knowledge to others and that led to another dream which took her to places.

After getting married, Zorain moved to Oman where she got acquainted with the bold Arabic makeup style. Having done her training there, Zorain came back to Bangalore in 1997 and joined the first flagship store of MAC. She trained many budding artists in South India. She took the big step and moved to Dubai to head a country as a Training Manager and successfully trained hundreds of makeup artists internationally as well.
Zorain Studios is one of the very few places where your makeup is done under the supervision of a highly talented person who has created magic in some of the most elite events like Lakme Fashion Week, Couture weeks, IIFA Awards, the GIMA Music awards and Blenders Pride Fashion Weeks.

Having the first-hand experience of working closely with wonderful women, Zorain knows exactly what one needs and wants. This has given her the edge that makes her training studio one of the best ones in the country.
The lady expresses,
“Being on the counter every day at a Cosmetic store not only helps you suggest the right makeup, but is also a great experience. Every day is a new day with new people and different eye shapes and face shapes to work with. There is no better training school than this.”
Khaleeli wants Zorains Studio to become India’s largest chain of premiere makeup schools and service provider. She wants to share her experience with the new artists to change the way how makeup is done in India.

With abundance of experience and knowledge in the world of bridal makeup, Zorain Khaleeli shares some words of wisdom for the to-be-brides in a tête-à-tête with us. She sheds light on some important aspects to be taken care of by a bride before hiring her makeup artist. She says,
“A beautiful lehenga, perfect venue and exquisite jewellery; nothing will work if the bridal makeup is not done right! While most of the brides do some research before finalising their makeup artist, there are some mistakes which most of the brides end up making anyway.”

So what is the first and foremost step for a bride in the process of hiring her makeup artist?

“Well, it is the timely trial for your look. Book your trial at least a month before the D-day so that if things go wrong, you can look for another makeup artist.”

And, what are the things that she must ask about during her makeup trial?

“Ask the makeup artist about the entire product range of products that they will use and how long it would last. You don’t want products which wear out within hours. Additionally, there are a lot of different makeup techniques that are available these days, such as airbrush, matte finish, glossy finish, HD, etc. Talk to your artist and settle on the one which is best for you.”
She further adds,
“Try to discuss the prior work of the artist and see pictures of brides so that you have an idea about their style and techniques. Apart from that, discuss in detail with your MUA about your skin type so that they know the products to be used on you.”

What is the right procedure to seal the deal?

“Discuss in detail about the package that the artist is offering in your budget. Also, talk about the payment policy in detail and get everything related to the same documented. Some artists leave their brides hanging for some other high-end paying client. Get a contract signed by your artist to avoid last minute fake emergencies.”
Dear brides, now that you have the expert’s opinion by your side, make the right choice as you hire your makeup artist for your D-day.
