Anita Dongre’s penchant for mingling art with a deep social thought has always left us exultant. Her intense love for Rajasthan is revealed in the beautiful gotta Patti embroidery and the jewellery she designs under the umbrella of Anita Dongre Pink City along with that punch of an exciting theme in every couture collection. This time, embracing the good and the belief of one single woman who brought about a monument movement in India, here’s the  Anita Dongre winter bridal couture.

The winter bridal collection – #TreeOfLove is dedicated to Amrita Devi Beniwal, who sacrificed her life along with 363 other Khejri trees worshippers in 1730 AD by hugging the tree that we’re going to be axed by the kingsmen for conventional use and brought about the first Chipko Movement.

Inspired by the Bishnoi community in a town called Khejarli in Jodhpur, this collection is for the women who are deeply rooted, strong, and believe in themselves no matter what anyone has to say. Their appreciation for the love of mother nature is reflected in the intricacies that are instilled in every piece from the couture and in the Bishnoi tribe even today.

The designs, details, and patterns are an ode to nature lovers and the brave Amrita for having changed the way we look at every single tree. Not just the underlying beauty in the garments and jewellery, but there is also a sublime cause linked to it. In honor of the original #TreeHuggers – Every purchase made from this collection will transpire in the Anita Dongre team planting a tree at Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary.

Sticking to color themes that the designer loves, this Jade green Lehenga boasts of hand embroidery in gotta and hints of teal to add depth.
