Especially the women who look flawless with all that makeup, they truly fascinate us! It’s definitely been an aspect you’ve been wanting to explore for yourself too, isn’t it?
They say beauty is what lies within, but a pop of lipstick and a hint of eyeshadow never hurt anyone!
Besides, the Kajal and the lip gloss you wear everyday, there is so much more that can enhance your look, you’d be surprised. We know, it’s tough to find that starting point, the options are unlimited and how to use these products doesn’t always seem that simple. But, that’s why WE exist.

Prepping The Skin Is Important!

After spending almost half a day at the mall and discussions with a few of managers at the various stores for makeup, we went back to the start. The first step which is preparing the skin. The Clinique 3 Step Skin Care has to be the best choice for this. From cleansing, exfoliating to moisturizing, a combination of three products were available for different skin types as told by Tanvi at Sephora. Besides this, we also fell in love with the Diorsnow Bloom Perfect. It was ideal for that quick radiant glow right after moisturizing the skin, perfect way to add the brightness and give it a shiny texture.

What Is Base Makeup?

This is what we call foundation of the makeup. This can make or break your look, so it’s extremely important to pick products that blend well and suit your skin. We are all pretty weary when it comes to this, isn’t it?
The Diorskin Star Foundation is just what you need when you are looking for a more flawless, natural look that is almost weightless. You could get the Faces two in one Foundation & Concealer Brush or the original beautyblender at Sephora to blend this in.
Well, after you bag this awesome beauty blender, it’s important for you to know the way to keep it clean. We found this awesome guide at Jen Reviews, so give it a look before you move forward!
If you are a person who’s keen on using a concealer along with the foundation, the MAC Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35 FPS comes in various different shades and we found that it also works wonderfully as a base. If the aim is to hide dark circles, the best discovery we made is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Flawless Wear Concealer. Finish the base makeup with the cream based Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Compact .

Highlighting Is Key!

After you’re set with the base, let’s come to the more artistically inclined step! Contouring, Highlighting or Strobing – You must have heard of these jargons. Let’s get to contouring. The Clinique Curvy Contour Chubby Stick, is the only shade that the standard Indian skin tone needs for this. That was easy, no confusion whatsoever. Blend that in, and then use the Clinique Blushing Blush to give your cheeks that rosy powdery tinge. For little sheen on the cheekbones and nose, Dior Flash Luminizer works like magic or you could also choose the Bobbi Brown Bronzer for a dusky look.

The Focus Is On The Eyes!

Eyes are the favourite part of makeup. Graduating from the basic Kohl to more intense stuff, we were the most excited about this.
First, the brows. With brows being the real deal these days, we had to pick something special for them. Benefit cosmetics at Sephora had the most amateur-friendly options. The one we loved was the Benefit Cosmetics Goof Proof Brow Pencil Easy Shape & Fill. It was easy to use and the lines created weren’t too harsh or dramatic!
At MAC, they let you create your own box of eyeshadows, we loved the MAC Eyeshadow Solar Glow Times Nine. It has the rosy, metallic hues, for the party night and soft nudes for a day time wear. For smokey eyes, which have always been exciting, we asked a makeup artist to show us how it can be done. She said to avoid pinks or any other warm colors and stick to golds, greys along with the MAC Carbon Black Intense Eye Shadow.
Since there were too many brushes available, she mentioned that the only ones we need are the #224, #239SH, #219, #275 from MAC for working the eyes. The Inglot AMC Gel Eyeliner had the deep black intense color for the winged eyeliner look. If you prefer Kajal, since it’s easier to master that, MAC Modern Twist Kajal Liner – Squid was a great choice. End it with the Bobbi Brown Eye Opening Mascara and your eyes will mesmerize the rest of the world, we guarantee!

Lips Have To Look Stellar!

For the lips, the options were aplenty. We pretty much liked something at all the brands. If you prefer matte, then the Retro Matte Series at MAC has beautiful colors that suit the Indian skin tone. But before that, don’t forget to buy the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer which activates the collagen in the lips and thus keeps it supple through the event, it’s totally worth it. We also tried the FACES Ultime Pro Crème Lip Crayons in nudes and bright shades and that remained untouched even after a few hours of having applied it. The exciting pick of the day was the Chanel Rogue Allure Ink 152 which is a long lasting matte liquid lip color!

Some Interesting Finds Along The Way!

You’ll be totally impressed by the Bobbi Brown Retouching Wand incase you prefer avoiding the hassle of the whole base makeup and go for a quick travel friendly product instead. Colorbar On The Go Makeup Remover Wipes are a saviour on a daily basis & Clinique Moisture Surge™ Face Spray Thirsty Skin Relief to set the makeup seemed very skin-friendly to keep the skin hydrated along with the vast variety of nail paint shades at Colorbar Nail Lacquers.

So everything on the list is available at Select Citywalk, Saket which is open way beyond office hours. Don’t forget to go and get a free trial at some of these stores and understand more about what suits your skin!
